Greedville: The Guilty Business Model
A short explanation of how we got here
Our problem is not a group of evil people, plotting to control the world. It is a business model we call “Greedville.”
“Greedville” represents a town of around 100,000 individuals, the size of Santa Barbara, California. This is the number of individuals who “rule the world” through the Greedville Business Plan.
The Greedville Business Model, applied to the growing number of multinational corporations, built a perpetual stream of income for this small group of individuals. Not surprisingly, they think it is the most important innovation in human history and are persuaded they deserve their riches. We will get into their justifications and rationalizations a little later.
Keeping Greedville working depends on enforcing a monopoly position through the use of government policy, coercion, and violence, directed at Americans and those living in other countries.
Institutions are human tools developed over time. These are intended to allow us to live together without conflict while providing services which we have decided we need. We, mostly, willingly pay for courts and government because we commonly believe it is essential to reduce conflict and protect the rights of all. We intended these to be reliably dispassionate and objective, delivering justice and fair dealing to all.
Business was once viewed as an honorable occupation, and it is as long as those so engaged act with complete accountability for their actions. People engaging in commerce, 'business,' provide us with things for which we are willing, and eager, to pay. There was a time when people engaging in business believed they were accountable when their business caused problems for their customers; Most still do.
But Greedville does not want to be accountable or follow the rules. They believe they can rewrite the rules at will. They, in fact, continue attempts to revised the rule book we call the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and even eaten away at such concepts as simple human decency.
Converting our institutions; government and courts, to the use of Greedville resulted in the limitation of our rights, the impossibility for ordinary people to obtain justice, and the amount spent on getting elected, among other very visible signs of their continued conversions.
America's government and system of courts are paid for by all of us. These are today run for the benefit of Greedville. Our system of justice and government has become an extension of the Greedville business plan.
This was not so much a conspiracy but something far more human. All people copy successful behavior they observe in those around them. For most people piling up power and profits equals success. Therefore, Success = Acceptable behavior in most minds. This is true of all primates, and is well documented. The least ethical people, those with the least compassion, honesty, and integrity, also copy behavior. These are the people who populate Greedville.
It is very likely that many of those responsible for these changes acted to accrue power to themselves. Many of these are psychopaths. See Characteristics of Psychopathy
This short booklet, and website, gives you the unvarnished truth about how Greedville works – and what you can do about it.
